The Body mass index (BMI) is a measurement based on height and weight in relation to body fat. The calculation can be used to determine how much risk a person has in developing certain health problems due to his/her weight. The greater the body mass index score the higher the risk of potential health problems. To be clinically obese a person will be 20% or above their ideal body weight. A score of 27 on the BMI key is about 20 percent overweight.
